Heal n Cure is offering Free H1N1 Flu Vaccine to its existing and new patients. Please read the following completely and carefully before calling 847 686 4444 to set up an appointment for your Free H1N1 Flu Vaccination. The H1N1 flu virus is a new virus and is very different from seasonal flu viruses. Most people have little or no immunity to this new flu strain, meaning their bodies are not prepared to fight off the virus. The H1N1 flu vaccine is made just like seasonal flu vaccines and is as safe and effective as seasonal flu vaccines. The immunizations are for people at greatest risk for exposure and complications of H1N1 infection, including: 1. College Students 2. People with chronic medical conditions (i.e. Cardiovascular Disease, Respiratory Disease, Diabetes, Kidney Disease, Sickle Cell Anemia, etc.) 3. People with weakened immune systems (i.e. HIV positive) 4. Healthcare workers 5. Emergency medical providers 6. Daycare providers 7. Limited number of vaccines may be available to others. Heal n Cure encourages area residents of Glenview, Northbrook, Wilmette, Deerfield, Winnetka, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Kenilworth, Northfield and Glencoe, to give themselves and their families an extra special reason to be thankful for the holidays, by being immunized and protected against the H1N1 Pandemic. These H1N1 immunizations are FREE! The vaccines will be available in injection form. According to Dr. Meena Malhotra, MD, Heal n Cure will screen individuals’ health histories to assess whether vaccine is suitable for them. Please download and fill the forms at http://www.healncure.com/new-patient-registration and bring the forms to your appointment, so your past medical history can be evaluated. Who should not be vaccinated? Just like with the seasonal flu vaccine, persons who have a severe allergy to eggs, who have had a life-threatening allergic reaction after a dose of seasonal flu vaccine, who have had Guillain Barre Syndrome, or who are moderately or severely ill, should not be vaccinated. We require that you fill in a past medical history form and bring it your appointment. Further, Heal n Cure will only vaccinate adults (18 years or older). We will not vaccinate pregnant women; they should refer to their Gynecologist whether vaccination is right for them. What would be my cost? The vaccine and its administration is free of charge. However, the doctor needs to evaluate and review your past medical history with you, to determine whether you should be vaccinated (please refer to the question - Who should not be vaccinated?). For this evaluation, your insurance will be billed for a new patient visit, and any copay and deductibles would be your responsibility.
