The American Board of Bariatric Medicine (ABBM) is the first and only exam to board certify bariatric physicians. Physicians are distinguished as experts in the non-surgical medical management of overweight and obese patients.
American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)

For more than 75 years, Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) has stood for the highest standard in internal medicine and its 19 subspecialties and has meant that internists have demonstrated – to their peers and to the public – that they have the clinical judgment, skills and attitudes essential for the delivery of excellent patient care.
American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM)

Through certification and maintenance of certification programs, the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) pursues its mission by establishing, maintaining, and measuring high standards of excellence in the specialty of Family Medicine. The ABFM seeks to provide assurance to the public that certified family physicians possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to provide quality care to the individual, family and community through commitment to professional standing, continued competency in the specialty of Family Medicine, and lifelong learning.
American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP)

The American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP) is a medical professional association. It is the primary source for clinical education and training for the non-surgical medical management of obesity. Physician supervision is necessary to detect and treat weight-related medical conditions. A program supervised by a physician who is a member of the ASBP and who has completed specialized training in bariatric medicine, offers a comprehensive and effective approach to maximizing overall health and reversing co-morbidities.
American College of Physicians (ACP)

The American College of Physicians (ACP) is a national organization of internists — physicians who specialize in the prevention, detection and treatment of illnesses in adults. ACP is the largest medical-specialty organization and second-largest physician group in the United States.

Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
